Not sure where to post this but how do i disable the overheal (things that look like a +) in stv demos?
Ive tried to make a blank healsign in tf/materials/effects/healsign.vtf but it still shows little dots.

Although it may disable other particles you want to see.

I'm pretty sure PDLX particles removes that.

If not, the only way to remove them is through the tf2 particles editor

It didn't change much or i'm doing something wrong.
I tried to make a custom particle but i actually have no idea what i'm doing so it didn't work obviously.  :'(

EDIT: managed to remove the plus symbols but there still are small dots

Try to find any particle related to the medigun and delete it, try to search them in the class.fx, medigun.pcf and item.fx files

Tf2 replaces the deleted ones with stock particles so that no good either. Extract whatever particle pack you want (namely the PLDX one, I can't seem to find the default one to mess around with) and add -tools to the startup command line in the properties for Tf2. Then select particle editor (default is texture I think) and then locate itemfx or medic related names of the pack (you get the idea) and open up the emmitter value and edit that to 0. (You don't have to mess with the particle count unless you have ocd like me and have to set that to 0 too). I think there will be both the blue and red ones you have to edit. After that just drag it over vpk.exe in your bin folder and move it to custom.

For my own particle pack, I used the Light Particle Pack by my man Z00L and "removed" the explosions and set some ungodly amount of particles and emmit rate for my rocket trails to make the more "fluffy" (980ti bby). You can also screw with the colours in colour random/fade. I never seen/ had to deal with overheal particles though :/ (They are definitely in the pack and have not been touched) (Edit: realised you were talking about stv demos but tbh the overheal particles don't really ruin anything)

Anyways I hope I helped ;)
All the advise given to me by zool  when i started was "set -tools in your launch options and go play with it. I'm sure you'll figure it out"

Thanks for the reply man, i tried everything you said but the dots were still there.
But i just realized you can barely see the dots in thirdperson in comparison with the plus symbols so i think this is the best i can do.
