Ultimate Offline Jump Pack

So I've tried using the most recent version LJ provided and my game keeps crashing as soon as I load into the map. Older versions don't work either.
I am using the -insecure command and I am using tv_enable 1 before I load up the map.
Here's the logs I'm getting:

I've been using LJ's modified pack for a few months now and everything works fine. I checked my logs and get the exact same logs you get, so I don't believe it's a problem with the pack or plugins. I checked your post history here and it seems you've had problems crashing on maps in the past, so perhaps it's something else to do with your game (graphics, hud)?

Does this only happen on jump_air? Does your game crash immediately when loading into other maps?

Try removing the pack entirely (just move the tf/addons folder onto your desktop or something), launch tf2 in -insecure, load any jump map, and see if your game crashes

I've reinstalled the game and it's working just fine even with Metamod, Sourcemod and Steamtools installed from their respective websites. When adding the files from LJ's pack one by one the game starts crashing once I add jumpassist.smx to sourcemod/plugins. This is after all the files from sourcemod/configs, sourcemod/extensions and all the stuff in tf/cfg have been added as well.
Just removing jumpassist.smx doesn't work either.
I've also tried just copy-pasting the stuff from the pack into the tf folder (overwriting any duplicates) but that didn't work either.

The issue is the same for every map, not even limited to jump maps or community maps in general. I load into the map, choose a team, and as soon as I choose  a class the game crashes.
It's running fine when I remove the addons folder.

Could this be caused by me using mastercomfig (_comp setting from cfg.tf)?
Btw I only care about getting speedo, pertickregen, rampbugfix and TAS working. Not sure what some of the other added plugins do but I don't need for example skeys or syncr. Maybe that helps...

I don't know what could be wrong with the jumpassist plugin, but it is a bit outdated so perhaps it might help to instead use the most updated version by Joinedsenses.

This is what I started using a week ago, and really the only major differences feature-wise is that !skeys actually works, a new feature called SaveLoc, and explosions are hidden just like on Tempus. My log files are also a lot cleaner now too, so perhaps it has some fix that might help you?


edit: I use an fps config too so I doubt that's it? But you can try running the game without it and see if that's it

 As for all the plugins you said you cared about--they all work without jumpassist. The best feature jumpassist has is the ability to save and teleport, which can allow you to reset if you fail a jump and save you a lot of time, but it also has quite a few quality of life stuff

Alright I found the issue. Apparently one of the addons doesn't like it when host_thread_mode is set to 1 by the config. Now I just need to figure out how to actually use the TAS plugin. So far it keeps saying 0 ticks.

Edit: That works now but the save/load position feature is broken. But tbh I'm happy I got it working as is.

This is a little off-topic from this jump pack in particular, but many people who are looking to get the most out of an offline jumping experience probably have the same question on their mind, or maybe don't even know to ask it. 

I've been using this pack a lot recently because I have bad internet, so offline is the only place I can jump competently.  I learned to jump online and when my internet improves, I'd like to return to spending most of my time online.  So, while offline, I'd like to have ping like online so I'm practicing under that condition.  I've been using net_fakelag, but there's a slight issue.  Sometimes, the game doesn't run at the correct speed (and yes, host_timescale is still 1).  I've been looking all over for answers but the closest I've got is this thread in the CS:GO reddit from 10 months ago, which has someone else struggling with the same problem in that game, but doesn't give a resolution.  The degree to which things are sped up seems to be consistent throughout a session, and I've been testing with a metronome to ensure that the game is running at the right speed, doing retry in console until it does.  As you might imagine, it's a pretty annoying way to begin a map, and occasionally I've forgotten to make sure the timing is right only to realize several jumps in that the reason that I'm struggling with some jump is because the game is running slightly too fast. 

Is there a plugin, a fix, or something else that I can use to play offline with fake ping, or do I have to work with this broken method and calibrating my rocket's shots to a metronome?

Cap your framerate (either in tf2 or an external program) if you haven't; listen servers behave oddly if you get >1000fps.

I heard high framerate was an issue so lowered the cap on my framerate from 300 to 144 (the refresh rate of my monitor) with no improvement.  I assumed 144 was below the danger level, and that sounds especially true if 1000+ is where things fall apart.

I had this problem about a year ago too and I think it was caused by me using net_fakelag, with it only happening after I would switch maps (I remember because I  talked about this in the rjweekly discord). It fixed itself eventually and I haven't had the problem since, but I don't know what happened for it to be fixed. It happened almost every time I played offline back then, but I'm not able to recreate it now.

Can you record a video of what it looks like with net_graph 1? Is the fps shown in net_graph about the same as the fps you see through Steam overlay? Can you also check that host_framerate = 0 in console?


EDIT: i added him and we talked for a bit and the problem was using net_fakelag. any amount of fakelag speeds up the game, but it becomes much more apparent if you have the command in a config that is executed before the listen server is created. In my case I had it in listenserver.cfg and firestabber had it in a config that was executed as soon as the game was launched.

If you type the command in console while in the server, your game still speeds up but to a much lesser degree. host_framerate and host_timescale are unaffected when the game speeds up, so unless there's some other command I'm unaware of, the only way to stop it is to set net_fakelag to 0.

Oh now that is interesting...  When I'm having issues, the fps from net_graph is substantially different from the one from the overlay.  Here's a video link, with the overlay and net_graph fps enlarged for part of the video so you can actually see them clearly.  I've double checked that host_framerate is 0.  This was the first time a map was loaded after starting the game, btw.  I'm mentioning that because I'm not sure what you meant by "switch maps", whether or not the first map counts.  Looking at the FPS after loading up the map multiple times, sometimes adjusting the value for fps_max, I never seem to be able to get the fps from net_graph to match up exactly with the overlay's fps.  net_graph's is always a tad lower, though when it's only off by 1 or 2 the fire rate doesn't desync from a metronome for some reason.

In regards to errors or warnings people were getting, switching from the original jumpassist to JoinedSenses's version fixes all of those from what I've found. Here's the link to that:

Just replace jumpassist.smx and jumpassist.sp with his version and put the .inc files in tf\addons\sourcemod\scripting\include.

  I loaded everything up and triple checked that everything was right, but i still don't get the setting menu to pop up, and all my binds don't work. How can i fix this?

Question: the "falling sound" you hear when rocketjumping is disabled, is it possible to enable it? I mean the sound that lets you know wether u managed to bhop or not.
