I don't think he cares much about textures or lights or geometry--it being his first map. Regardless, if you think it looks ugly, feel free to say that. If brushes look dumb, I will tell him and hope he cries.

Alright I did a quick playthrough and here's my impressions:

Most of the textures are missing for me... and by that I mean all but the walls, ceiling, cp room, and some of the floors. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=221382637
All of the numbers for the jumps should be func_illusionary.
The difficulty curve is as wiggly as a worm.

The actual jumps:
1 can be wallshot
2 not too hard seems good
3 easier than 1 and 2
4 can't shoot the wall to start off, not a big issue just slightly annoying, also the ceiling is a bit low
5 seems fine
6 the same as jump 3
7 good jump I like it a lot
8 triple seems a bit out of place
9 good jump could use func_nogrenades
10 way to easy to be after the triple. Fine otherwise.
11 needs an indicator of when to turn around, also http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=221387185
12 good but should be sooner
13 fun jump not that hard
14 can be wallshot
15 too easy for last, fine otherwise

I really like the ladder above the cap that was well made but you can't edegbug on it :(

This isn't the worst map I've played (demo_jumper) and it's certainly not the best. But it needs a lot of work.

try to use a way to indicate which walls you can touch and can't touch

notice alot of triggers that looked sloppy, you can just make them 1 unit high






put trigger hurt

Thanks, mates. I wonder why you could not see the blue texture of the platforms while I could. You cannot see the glass either. He did not use pakrat, obviously, but nothing was custom.

So this is where everyone went to when iT went bye bye.  Thanks for the input so far, everything is subject to change of course and I'll make some changes that have been already suggested.  I haven't a clue why you're missing textures, but my laptop also does that.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I've made the numbers to the jumps non solid as well as a number of other changes based on the feedback here.  Will do cleaning up of triggers and the like soon as well.

I can see from the screenies that your light entities are blasting the roof with sunspots. For shame. Could add light props if you felt compelled.
