Sometimes it feels like the power, speed, or height I get from a rocket jump varies slightly between maps. It's subtle enough that I could be imagining it. I've wondered if maybe it's just my perception of distance being skewed because my eyes aren't registering points of comparison on the almost-monochromatic surfaces.

Is it just my perception, or is rocket jump power/speed a variable that different maps treat differently?

Some examples:
I'm just curious about this. Thanks.

pretty sure it's just your perception. its probably due to differences in texture fidelity. sometimes really bland textures make it harder to judge distances and the difference between high-res detailed textures and low-res ones may affect your perception

Obelisk and tholos have jumps that are very open so everything seems slower/smaller in comparison.
