Can't join a team or type in chat

Hi there.
I've tried to play on the Tempus servers recently but whenever I join it won't let me join a team or type anything in chat. I would really like to play on these servers. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

which server did you join? some of the servers are rank restricted so only people with a certain rank can play (others can only spectate).

Hey gibus, thanks for the reply. I actually avoided those ones, I tried joining a few servers such as (Europe) Beginner, France (All Maps) #1 & #2 and the same problem occurred. I repeatedly tried to join a team but it would just leave me in spectate.

I am quite new so I'm not sure if this has something to do with it.

if your account is free to play that maybe why, since tempus does that to prevent alts
