Hi guys,

I recently started running jump_the and most runs are going to be long (anywhere from 4-8 hours or so). I have crashed two times on separate runs..one at 8ish hours and the other at 6:38. Most of us know there are 12hour + runs out there. I have heard that its hard to pinpoint why the crashes happen but I'm curious if anyone has any input or knowledge on how to prevent crashes. via cfg specs, ingame settings etc. Would be nice to have some insurance that i dont have to be racing against the clock.

Pc specs (if it helps)

CPU Intel Core i7-8700
NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB
74 GB free of 238GB
60 hz monitor

there really isn't anything you can do to reliably prevent crashes that i know of, tf2 is known to leak memory among other things so it crashing is a matter of when not if. some peoples games crash at a certain time pretty consistently while others just don't crash hardly ever.

for me higher max_fps and lower mat_picmip seem to crash faster
