Hey... so i've been messing around with hammer and i've created my first jump map - jump_rayner_a1 !
It's a soldier map with 2 courses. Might be abit buggy, but please give me feedback, both positive and negative, for me to improve in the future! :D
Easy course is pretty pathetic, because I made it when I was still pretty sucky at hammer...
Hard course is pretty okay I guess... just that i don't know anything about texturing. Maybe someone nice would be willing to add me and help? :> I'd be interested to learn as I love mapping.

Hard course consists of 7 levels
Easy course consists of ??? levels

Things I'm aware about ( buggies ) :
Level 6's skybox is pretty much screwed up...
Level 5's too... just not to such a bad extent...
Really didn't think through it before making the level ._."

To do list :
1) Add back-track teleporters
2) Fix all the buggies
3) Make it nicer
4) Add a control point
That's about it...

Currently making a demo map...
Trust me, i'll be much better :>!
Hit me up if you are willing to teach me about texturing / help me find nice textures ( like koi's ) for the map C:

Just my opinion, after fail a jump I think the respawn is too close to the edge on course 1, otherwise you just keep falling after respawning.
**Overall** Good course 7/10
Jump 3 - Ceiling is too low (at least for me)
Jump 5 - Can't seem to skip across the platforms.
Jump 7 - Needs to be extended a bit. Walls need to be able to be shot off of.
Jump 8 - First platforms seems slightly too high
Jump 9 - IMO' left walled jumps ain't for beginners
Jump 10 - The glass seems a bit too close to the wall for a good sync. Maybe extend the oncoming platform a bit and move the door.
Jump 11 - The end platform comes inward too far for a beginner. You might want to bring it further back a bit.

Here we go, ran through it with rocket jumper.

Easy Course
Jump1/2 - no problems
Jump3 - make the ceiling a bit higher
Jump4 - no problems here
Jump5 - those are some low skips, very low rj or crouched rj i assume?
Jump6 - fine
Jump7 - speedshot? the speedshot plat is too low and near, and the jump can be cheated with an rj

Jump8 - no problems
Jump9 - left wall's too hard at this point
Jump10 - make the glass higher

Jump11 - can be done with a good double, the ending plat is a little too far out, very little time to sync a triple (i assume thats what the jump is supposed to be)

RATING - 7/10. Pretty good easy course I guess, should number the jumps, makes it easier to comment on them

Hard Course
Jump1 - no problems
Jump2 - those are some high skips, pretty damn difficult because one usually doesn't have speed after the 1st skip, maybe lower the 1st skip or lower the 2nd & 3rd.

Jump3 - raise the dividers (the ones textured with the grey dev), and one can shoot the wall on the triple

Jump4 - very fun jump, i assume it's a telesync, to a telesync wallshot? the first wall is rather high, maybe make it lower and closer to the starting plat, also the teleport is far too close to the edge of the starting plat. it's also pretty damn hard going from jump3.

Jump5 - cmon, droppogo already? naw

Jump6 - holy fuck this one is hard as balls, the curved wall doesn't slide you very well and the wall after that is really low and far (i pretty much had to do wallshot-pogos on it)

Jump7 - baaasically legion_beta3's bonus (or beta2 last). except it's harder to aim, takes longer to do (and fail) and much more aggravating, didnt do it. i recommend taking out this one.

RATING - 4/10. you can fix the skybox issues by moving the jumps further away from each other, difficulty curve is whack, no cp and no trigger_hurt :(((((.

OVERALL - 5.5/10. pretty much the same rating i'd give torii_a1 lollololdoldpowkepoi12po34i1234i

Thanks for the feedback!  ;D I'll see what i can do... hopefully i'll try to fix the hard course ASAP, but need to find the time to do so ;x

Every time my server changes to this map it gets restarted because of segfault.
I'm running srcds v2112877 on Linux Fedora 5.
