So there are some maps like squared that would take a very long time to complete but I can't do it in one sitting at tempus because the map would change before I finish.

I think it'd be nice to have the ability to save my time and come back to it so it still counts as a map finish.

It might seem like this could be used to basically add up your time by each jump or use a tele strat and it still counts as a time but if you could make it so it completely stops any momentum they had and deletes any rockets they fired when they teleport then it wouldn't affect times if you use the save.

I haven't really thought of other ways it could affect runs yet. What do you guys think?

Oh yeah?
So you save in middle of the map and you just tp back to it if you miss a strat? terrible idea

This idea has been passed around for a long time but its really not a good concept. Theres really no way for it to work with the 'all in one' purpose of tempus.

Ok well what about having it save only if there's a map change?

Or you could just try and do it faster next time.

I wish we could go back to the good times of jump

Flawed idea to begin with. I can go on explaining why this is bad but I think you yourself will get it looking back in the future. But for now what I think  you want is to shorten the skill gap between less & more skilled jumpers? Or maybe just a few friends to help you extend the time limit.

Pausing runs and returning to them later sounds kinda cheaty and vulnerable to exploits.

If really nobody can beat a map in a reasonable amount of time, then we should rather divide the map into segments or even time each jump individually if necessary. I agree that it is pointless to have nigh-unbeatable maps on a speed run server.

Also I am pretty sure this is already possible in tempus, so rob and jay wouldn't have to develop an extra feature just for one or two maps.

We have thought about this, but figured it just gets really messy for not much benefit. The posted information, the STV and even server details of a run would no longer be 1:1 pieces of data. This is problematic for us displaying run info, and for people to figure out how someone did a run.

We've thought about including, then separating these types of runs, maybe with no points and some sign that they were done with pauses. Still felt like a bad solution and overall, not really what we are trying to encourage in jumping.
