jump_vertuosic - 3 Courses, 3 Bonuses
Hey guys I'm done with my second map. This time its a 3 course demo vert map, aiming to help you improve no matter what stage you are at. C1 is aimed to help you do the carrot vert, C2 is aimed to help you do the vanished C1 vert, and C3 is somewhat for starkie verts, but gets harder.

3 bonuses:
- SHARK BONUS (you can all thank zike)
- Vert flipped on the side
- A couple 45 degree climbs

- 1st and 2nd of c2 should swap imo (the 1st jump is harder than the 2nd)
- c2 is more starkie level I would say, and c3 is way above starkie level
- c2 last I found harder than c3 first, not sure if that's intended as they are slightly different feeling verts?
- level 6 on c1 is harder than the rest of c1? (maybe I just suck at that one specific jump idk...)
-c1 the first 5 jumps and jump 7 are carrot level, the rest are harder imo
-shark bonus is scarwy D:

That is the final version, working for both soldier and demo, and its the version currently live on tempus servers.

There is 1 thing different from that version and the one on tempus. I changed it on tempus with this stripper code:

The only thing this stripper code does is prevent demomen keeping ubercharge after switching off from soldier while they were ubered as soldier. Wich is really not an issue for map run, only for 1 bonus so i didnt bother compiling a new version just for that.

Nothing new as demo. Vert your way up!

For soldier, there's a question mark at the start that explains evertything, but in short:
-shoot a rocket
-press attack2
-play dance dance revolution
-aim where you want to go as pressing the right combinaison of keys will catapult you in the direction youre aiming
-hold crouch the entire time as uncrouching really breaks your player model and the direction his eyes are "looking". the catapult target is parented to the player's eyes, and uncrouching just make the target go all over the place wich will seem as random direction. If you stay uncrouch, you will get the first catapult right, then all other catapult will just send you sideway or downward or jsut random direction. STAY CROUCHED
-speedo or other onscreen text plugin will most likely break the letters on your screen. they will barely be visible when dropping down on your screen. disable those plugin.
-this gimmick IS affected by ping, but the timing window to hit a correct combinaison is about 0.2s, wich is a lot. You have 0.1s to press keys before or after it goes on the key track line and still get a catapult. just press them a little earlier when playing on higher ping, but for 99% of people with ping between 0-100 it shouldnt change anything. One thing to note tho, the letters on screen will flash the more ping you have, Nothing so bad that makes it unplayable for <100 ping, but if you try on 200-300 it will be a bigger challenge (:
-there's a "fail" catapult. if you press a key wrong at any time during ddr mode you will get catapulted backward by 300 u/s. there is a 1sec delay before you can get a fail catapult again to prevent people from beating the map backward.

For people wondering why uncrouch doesn't work for soldier's gimmick:



The yellow dev block is the target that the catapult around you is trying to reach. It is attach the the player's model eyes. The video shows what happens to your player's head when you're airborn while crouch and uncrouch

added the stripper code that i linked in a previous post in the map and recompiled. Also fixed an issue where after 2 players leaving a server, the gimmick could get buggy for some players.
