JA representatives selection race for Tip of the Hats

The annual Tip of the Hats charity event is coming soon in September 16-18 but we have something in store for academy players for this weekend!



We will be holding a race on Sunday, September 4th at 10 AM PST / 5 PM UTC to select the top five jumpers to represent our group during the Tip of the Hats stream.

These five jumpers will get to race a preview build of the upcoming academy map on the Tip of the Hats stream during our short 10-minute segment.

To qualify, you must have spent at least 8 hours on our servers (90% of which must be on a rotation server) over the past two months.  JA Staff meeting this threshold can participate. Tier 3-4 maps will be used in the selection race and the event will be streamed live on our Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/jumpacademytf2

The maps that will be run are: jump_summer, jump_home_v2, jump_mirage, jump_vex_final, and jump_rope.

As an added bonus, we will be donating $100 to Tip of the Hats to support the One Step Camp programs for kids with cancer.

Any new donations to Jump Academy made between now and the Tip of the Hats event will be added on top of our original donation and sent to the charity.  And of course, for your goodwill, you will still get a donor rank on our servers!

But why though?... I jump offline roughly 70% of the time therefore I can't even give it a shot?

Other than that, it's a fun way of selecting ppl for the event. Kudos!

because it's a race for jump academy players, not general jumpers. the end result is to have a few of the best jump academy players represent the group in the race we're having on tip of the hats.

EDIT: nvm, races are hosted on NA servers only. Not cool, man.

A US server was chosen because it's also where the STV relay server was set up.

We will be using this as an opportunity to test it ahead of the TotH stream.
