Now that Newjuls is confirmed to be a cheater and seemingly does not have any remorse about it, would it not be justified to remove his times from Tempus? After all, he might have cheated more runs. Just saying...

Tempus has no connection with rjweekly or beginnings (other than accepting runs done on tempus). So no, it wouldnt be justified in the slightest, especially considering you cant tas online. Punishing someone on a completely different platform makes no sense.

Of course it is possible to TAS online runs, why wouldn't it be?

It does not matter that he cheated on a different platform, it is still the same sport. In most sports, if you cheat in one competition, you get punished across all competitions.

I'm not sure where you got the impression that you can tas online runs. It has never been done before and its still not possible to this day. As for the sports argument thats your opinion, im not punishing a legitimate player for a one time joke on a completely different platform.

It is your opinion that Newjuls is a legitimate player. This opinion is unfortunately not grounded in reality as he cheated, admitted to cheating and has no remorse of being a cheater.

Of course it is possible to TAS online runs, just record a keyboard macro and start it when you run. Not sure how you can know that "it has never been done". AFAIK runs have been removed for using bhop scripts (which are a form of TAS).

full online TAS runs like you're describing aren't possible due to the inconsistency of online play. it is however possible to use macros in order to cheat things like ctaps (which im pretty sure a lot of people do because afaik no rules have been set around macro abuse, and it's also pretty much impossible to enforce)

You cant "just record a keyboard macro", even for something as simple as ctapping it doesnt work consistently (you can try it yourself). TAS is not just a simple macro, its a complete "recording" pieced together from all your previous savestates, you CANNOT replicate that online, no one has done a FULL TAS run ONLINE before because it simply isnt possible to do. Cheating bhop bonuses is very trivial, even a braindead moron can make a macro that presses jump at the right time because bhop heights are consistent and there have been multiple occasions of people cheating bhop bonuses. Most of those cheated times are very obvious (due to low wr tick/the person very clearly being awful at movement/hitting inhuman amount of bhops) and get wiped. However THAT isnt TAS people were talking about (which is an OFFLINE plugin). Based on THAT fact its not my OPINION that newjuls is a legitimate player, its just simply not possible to TAS things online. He has no remorse for "cheating" because he didnt do it to profit himself, im still not sure how people fail to realize that. Its your right to dislike cheaters but just because you are really upset about it doesnt mean its justified to punish otherwise completely legitimate runs and ruining the ranking system.

If you are still going to try and argue about it after I explained everything in detail ill just assume its a shitty troll.

I'm locking this thread because:
  • Half the posts are shitposts
  • The other half are people raging at each other when it's obvious nobody is going to change their mind
  • BG6 organizers have already made their decisions regarding the situation

To the BG6 organizers, I understand that you were in a difficult position, but rules are rules and a run without a POV shouldn't have been accepted.
To Newjuls & co, this was an absurd way of trying to make a statement. Be the change you want to see.
