T5 Soldier T4 Demo

My first "real" map!
Learning Hammer is hard, but also very rewarding I'm finding :).

This map is intended soldier and it's somewhat of a gimmick map.
It involves soldier "air"-pogo and use of skybox in unusual ways.
It plays relatively well (tested myself) if you know how to do the jumps -> a lot of the jumps are difficult to understand what/how to do them.

The map is not too difficult for soldier and doesn't play too bad for demo either.

I'm having issues with lighting at the moment (if anyone feels so inclined they can DM me on discord or Steam and I can explain my issue and see if you can help).
BUT, for the time being, just play the map on fulbright(the map is not super bright, it doesn't even look too bad in fulbright to be honest).

UPDATE: jump_lafing_b8
Fixed a lot of major things, jump 13 can still be cheated but its harder and I couldn't find any good spacing after playing around with it for a while.
Lighting is completely gone for now - still working on a fix.
Jump 2 isnt changed yet but will look into it for the future.

I absolutely love it.

I don't get any regen and also the cap at the end doesn't work (did you add a trigger_capture_area?)

On 12 I assume it's a telesync, the walk from the teleport destination to the wall is a little painful, if that's what you are going for though then it's all good. I realize what you meant by sync catch now.

2 was pretty darn confusing for me to figure out, so I think those gifs would be a good idea. It still seems too difficult to me though.

The jumps that are just soldier airpogo (7 and 10) seem trivial to me compared to the other jumps.

New findings:
-I get stuck at the beginning of jump 3 (teleport destination is not 1 unit above ground).
-You can bounce the beginning of jump 12 (crouch walk to uncrouched).
-You can do a rj to ss from the ss platform on jump 13 and make it.
-The difficulty in the soldier airpogo parts seems to come mostly from their buggyness lol. Sometimes it will launch me straight down, sometimes it just doesn't do anything.

Thanks for the input, I'm glad you enjoy it :).

-Not sure why my func_regenerate wouldn't be working but I'll look into to.
-No, I did not add a trigger_capture_area, so, thank you.
-The air pogo jumps aren't really meant to be difficult, as it's a very new concept it's kinda of just easy introductory stuff. Also, yes they are quite buggy, your timing needs to be relatively good with your rockets and even then they can bug up sometimes but this is the best that I could get it after quite a bit of testing (I have a new concept for making it possible that I might try out in the future that involves a bit more work).
- The getting stuck in the ground on jump 3 was originally to prevent tele-syncing, however, since I've added the wall now I can remove that, thank you.
- I don't mind if you can bounce the start of jump 12 - as it's still on skybox so it's relatively difficult (I find sync catch easier for me).
- I tried spacing jump 13 better, new version with fixes should be out later today.
- I'm probably going to be changing jump 2 to make it easier to understand.

UPDATE: jump_lafing_v1
Fixed a HEAP of issues.
Air pogo jumps have been completely redone! (It is now 100% consistent).
Lighting is in the works for a final version, so until I post that you'll still have to play with fulbright.
Added tool-tips on a lot of jumps to assist in figuring out what to do.

Let me know if there's anything else that works/doesn't work or any other bugs.
Otherwise, look forward to the final version soon!

The map is complete now, it can definitely still be improved, but it's my first map, and I want to work on new projects.
I won't be working on it anymore
