Returning to an old area after some time, I found that some brushes had turned invisible as if they had been textured with nodraw. This often subdivided whole brushes into invisible patches. Standing in these areas would mute all sound, ignore rocket physics and delete parts of the player model. I would post a picture but the upload folder is full.

Here's the compile log:

Any ideas?

paste the log in there, it can usually solve any issue you ever have.

Sort of. I knew that Hammer was having difficulty rendering many complex shapes, so I wound up finding a workaround that would achieve a similar effect without needing those shapes.
Lesson learned: don't texture complex shapes with a skybox.

As a side note, is there any documentation of what the parameter 'LDR leaf ambient' is?
