Map in game is black

I just noticied when I run map it just is black! Yes I can spawn but I cant see shit and my ammo bar (6, 24) is not there! any fixes


Edit - Fixed!  How to fix - Just copy and paste the whole map on to a new hammer file or if you put a big func_regenrate around the map .. .REMOVE IT!

add lighting to your map if its too dark. Fullbright is the best though tbh

No It use to always work but after I put in some prop_dynamics in it just fucked UP

You don't need to "put the map up" because there's a messaging feature on this forum. Saves the trouble of having to add someone on steam.

Have you checked that your map is free of leaks?
Have you checked that you still have an info_player_teamspawn in the map?

You can send the VMF to me in a message if you wish and I can see if I can help, but please make sure you've fixed any leaks first!

your info_player_teamspawn outside the map / skybox
make sure put it inside hollow box

better using prop_static its much cheaper than prop_dynamic tbh

You should probably look up these problems first too, because theres plenty of help on the internet you can get without the trouble of starting a new thread.
Pretty much every problem you could think of with mapping is already up somewhere.

Copying and Pasting a map to a new file should be done with caution, you could easily end up with the entire thing off grid.

Do you check your compile log after a compile to find potential problems? A func_regenerate around the whole map could easily cause a leak if the origin of the brush is outside of the enclosed spaces in your map, but this kind of error would be reported in the compile log.

func_regenerate's have no origin, no way you're going to leak a map with that

Chances are, you either left the func_regenerate as a world brush or a func_detail, and thought it was a func_regenerate.
