Is it possible to make curved wallshots like apex (after the big pogo palace thing) or soar (pretty early in the map) that dont get you to wallbug like crazy?

The one on negative is pretty neat imo but you can only go one way

I really doubt it but the wallbugs are the only part that make them bearable

Off the top of my head you could either try lining up the inner corners of the blocks making a curve, rotating them around in an arc. Or do the normal surf ramp style, lining up the outer corners.

The first way might work better as theres no overlap of vertices/brush faces etc. vs the second but I really have no idea. In the end though they are still kinda shitty for long segments as you can't properly maintain height, but can work well if you hit them at speed to quickly change direction.

You can try to put some one unit player clips in front of every face of the curve, for some reason those have always seemed a bit smoother to me. Otherwise you can try to make the brushes into a prop with propper, might also help making it a bit smoother. If worst comes to worst look up a surf map tutorial, make a ramp that isn't sticky, and stretch it WAY up so that it is almost vertical (or just leave it kind of rampy could be cool, idk how you're using it in the map tho).

Put playerclips at every border where the individual brushes of the arch meet

e.g jump_lion 6 or that one jump on collab by Matti (?)

The curved wall on apex is made with player clips on the intersections between brushes.  I don't think I made it with illusionaries but I know that I definitely put player clips over the spots where the stripes meet.

Pretty sure as long as anything is not lined up on the x/y axis or has a face where brushes meet (eg. from clipping to texture) you can possibly wallbug.
