Messing around working on a map, and then all of a sudden, after a compile, I go in game to a fullbright map.

Makes no sense to me, I'm thinking it has something to do with me having no optimization whatsoever

no compile log? leak? not enough ram? lightmaps too low? we're working with nothing here.

you really should upload a compile log because it might just be vrad crashing
i'm missing some textures as well so you might want to upload the custom textures if you want us to compile it instead of just giving us a compile log to work with.

it took me 4 minutes 19 seconds for vrad to run. you may want to reduce your lightmap scale on walls that are large to 32 or 64 instead of keeping it at 16.

There's also a lot of complex geometry that isn't func_detailed. But that's a vvis issue and not vrad usually.

Maybe you just have fullbright on. I don't remember the command, I think it's like mat_fullbright 0? Something like that.
