I was reading old posts on tftv and saw Afterglow's BG 2013 post which gave a decent amount of exposure. I think it would be a good idea to make a thread like that on tftv/ozfotress/etf2l forums and post updates to it when new maps and the winners are released, instead of just letting it get buried and forgotten about. The appeal for a lot of people (myself included) is to watch some nicely edited speedy runs, which were definitely delivered, but only to this forum and the YT channel.

It would probably be good to reach out to larger youtube channels as well, preferably 6s focused channels.

I saw both that and the reddit post. My point was that no updates were posted to the thread, which resulted in it being buried quite quickly.

Starkie attracts the upfrags but maybe we could see if another well known community figure like truktruk or getawhale who are also interested in jumping could help promote it next time. It could also be an idea to look at tying this in with TOTH and having all of the winners announced during the stream.

siN is hard to work with, I won't be reaching out to him anymore. Anyone else can feel free to take a shot at it with him, but he is a difficult person.

I absolutely agree with everything scotch said. Also, if there's gonna be a Beginnings next year, I think we should make a pre-beginnings thread a few months before it starts where we can discuss details of the event, like how we can promote it better to attract a larger audience and encourage more people to participate.

Definitely this, it always seems a bit disappointing when less than 10 people bother to send in a time. Even though most of the times won't be good, it feels better to come 5th out of 30 rather than 5th out of 8. The same goes for trick jumps.

I think you did a great job John, considering how much you had to coordinate.  Sorry I'm not really around much anymore to help with stuff.

I do think next time, we can get more people to focus on advertising.  Get stage/winner video updates posted on the eXtv youtube and some other channels possibly.  Keep threads on tftv and reddit updated, etc.  More steam group announcements too maybe. Maybe server announcements. Maybe plan further ahead and have a firm date to announce during the next TotH.  Plenty of stuff to think about.

If you are thinking of server announcements, I would be okay with them on the Tempus EU servers for the next beginnings , as long as I know how it would be promoted. (wording of it, whether it would contain youtube channels, anything else that might be important) If that's okay with those who regularly play on the EU servers as well.

I agree with the pre-beginnings thread, I think it would go really well if there was an outline on good idea's to implement already in there, many of which I think are in this thread already.
