Next year the trickjumps should be voted on by the community, not by judges. It's obvious from looking at the results and the scoring on the score sheet that the judging was biased. The fact that Jorge's fucking abysmal jump won the demo jumps is proof enough.

The thing is that you can see by looking at the scoreboard that lambda was pretty much the one who fucked over everyone except jorge. Everyone voted reasonably well in the demo jumps, and then lambda gave everyone 1s, 2s and 3s while giving jorge a 7.

HeyGuys,

Here are the prizes for the winners of the trickjump segment of bg4.
JorgeLayja (15 keys)
Gebobus (11 keys)
gibus (11 keys)
crocket (9 keys)
Foour (3 keys)
Zike (3 keys)

vice & xhappy (30 keys)
gibus & Melon (15 keys)
Superchuck & Zike (5 keys)

To all the winners: please check https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tnOOQaZo77hbfmw-0GIWichQNOF8TiE9gjS3vf2fzfM/edit#gid=0 if you want any of the non-key prizes (within your range). We're distributing prizes descending order starting from whoever won the most keys (minty). That means the 3 key, 1 key people are probably going to have to wait a while as we liquidate our donations into keys when we run out of the initially.

Congratulations!

I don't think opening it up to the community would remedy this, and I doubt it would be viable in the first place. The fault clearly lies with the judge(s) who voted based on the player, rather than the jump. This seems like an outlying case rather than an issue with the way the voting works. It would be interesting if the demos that were given to the judges were anonymous, which would mostly future proof the system.

Maybe community voting wouldn't work, who knows. I just felt the need to point out this judging was obviously unfair this year and needs to be changed for for the future.

You are probably the best person to ask to fairly vote for both classes but I do feel like you were somewhat biased in giving a 10 to the winning coop jump simply because it was on annex. This isn't really close to as much of a problem because combustion also gave it a 10, but I've talked to quite a few people and many agree that that the 2nd place coop jump was far more impressive.

The biggest problem overall I think was how the demo voting was handled. You and savitar appeared to give all of the jumps a fair shot. Exile obviously didn't give a shit as he gave everything a low score. This isn't so bad because he didnt unfairly give score to anyone in particular, but he obviously didn't consider anything to be worthy of winning over another jump. The fact that combustion didn't even vote in the demo jumps is retarded because it leaves us with a total of 4 judges, which in hindsight obviously wasn't enough to get a fairly rounded scoring system, 2 of which (vexon and savitar) are being fair, exile obviously doesn't care, and lambda is voting either based on the players or his own bias towards what he liked to see in trickjumps rather than what is actually good (he gave crocket a low score for what was a really fucking good trickjump, i assume because he is bored of seeing long airpogos or something, which obviously isn't fair).

Looking at this image is sufficient proof of how retarded the demo voting was. The two judges who actually gave it a fair shot gave mireals rewind jump way higher scores than anything else, but lambda trashed what was obviously going to be the winning jump. smh. You can't even excuse it as being a single instance where he genuinely thought the jump was bad either, because across the board he was giving shit scores to every jump, even though vexon and savitar deemed them to be quite good (giving them 6+ scorees)

mireal saw how unfair this judging was a couple weeks ago and pulled out of the competition.
he got ridiculed pretty hard for it in discord for complaining about this, and i say, fucking shame on you everyone who treated it as if nothing was going on. you are either extremely ignorant or just an asshole. I know mireal isn't the most liked person in the community but it was incredibly obvious that something was wrong and he got so much shit for blowing the whistle. Now that the information is public, I have to say that im really disappointed with how he was treated for speaking up about it.

Maybe community voting wouldn't work, who knows. I just felt the need to point out this judging was obviously unfair this year and needs to be changed for for the future.
I think the change should be the judges who clearly threw away their vote or were incredibly bias and on top of that more transparency about how the numbers are actually given out. What I mean is essentially a subset of grading categories such as creativity, skill etc. where judges allocate points to those categories to come up with a final number for a particular jump. This might create a clusterfuck of numbers but honestly I think it will ultimately help with judging. Using the demo jumps as an example, I think Crocket's jump was incredibly skillful, but was somewhat lacking in creativity, whereas Jorge's jump may have been less skillful but was quite unique.

Just wait till you see mireals jumps when he uploads them. Everyone will realise just really how fucking unfair this was. One of mireals jumps which got beaten by jorges jump was on the same map as jorges jump, and included multiple downpogos into verts with the cannon. literally a longer and FAR better version of jorges....
