it's come to no surprise that for each and every bounce out there there is a different height being used because we're given so many options according to the spreadsheet

that being said, it's hard to become consistent on bounces across all maps with a similar bounce (e.g. walk off uncrouched but the height is different by x units, not jump crouched vs walkoff uncrouched) because of a lack of bounce height standardization.

should we standardize bounce heights to alleviate player aggravation?
(personally i don't find the difference in bounce heights too painful but this would help with speedrun and jumping consistency across maps).

its all really a part of learning the map. If your speedrunning a map, chances are you've done a practice run to remember the bounces. And it's not that hard to recall what they are during the run.

the only thing i can think of that's kind of bad about non-standardized heights (or at least ranges) is that people doing sync bounces can end up choosing really bad heights that seem ok in testing but in actual play it's just painful to do (see: kpop) but that's more on the mapper so it's not really a problem.

but i do agree that learning the map is a process that players and speedrunners should be doing and that we shouldn't be spoonfeeding them anything

however i do propose the idea of guideline heights for mappers who don't want to dig through to find the ideal bounce height for the jump they're making since it'd make it easier on mappers (although bounces are dumb anyways in general)

Nah, not necessary. But it would be nice if you can keep the bounces consistant within your map. And not like on jump_internal where every jump is a different bounce.

maybe for easier maps. for the sake of learning the basic mechanic. but that's already kind of a thing people do anyway.

i agree with everyone here
