I think this will only encourage alting/ban dodging. So it will most likely remain as it currently is.

it gets very boring once you hardly get any points. You hit a cap and can't go any higher. It's like any game that you prestige in, once you reach the top, you go back down to start again.

So it's just people who don't want to try to beat their own times

I guess I have a reason why they do it now, but I still don't really understand why anyone would have that kind of mindset

It's just not fun grinding to get a faster time. Once you have a good time you spent a while to get, you don't want to just re run most of the time. Mostly because a) if it's a good tt, you won't get many points and b) you already have a good time and there's no need to beat it.

Of course grinding isn't fun. I just don't see what wiping your score and getting a new one does for you. A standard that was set for other people to beat is then gone for seemingly no reason.

after putting in hundreds of hours you enjoy earning points, and it gets to a point where you it doesn't matter that you already had them

If you direct your attention to the rules as well as my previous post in this thread, you can find the answer to that.

if not being able to get worthless internet points makes you want to stop jumping then maybe it's time to move on to another game
