I have no idea why it's not letting me download the demo

Well I have never been able to download a demo from tempus.xyz, only in game link

Hmm, that's interesting, that may or may not be important when it comes to some demos being unavailable, possibly. I don't know.


righ clicking the download button and opening it in a new tab should fix the issues you're both having.

I tried that with the greyed out button and it doesn't do anything. I've been opening it in a new tab for all other demos I'm looking at though,

More evidence of lagged times. This one isn't necessarily cheated, but it is very obviously lagged and the time should be wiped.



Boshy grinds this bonus for some 25 minutes without any noticable lag. At the timestamp of 25:47, Boshy starts lagging really badly. Shortly after this lag starts, Boshy breaks the WR with an extremely good time and a big time save over the previous WR, considering how short and tight this bonus is.

When confronted about this in Discord (the chat can be seen in #reports on the Tempus discord) , Boshy denies that the time is a lagged time. Firstly, Boshy claims that the demo is old and therefore it could have bugs. Secondly, Boshy makes claims about the demo looking completely normal if you use cl_interp 0.1.

I'll debunk both claims:

1. If the demo was laggy due to being old, the entire demo should probably suffer from this artifact and not only the part where Boshy gets the WR. Furthermore, other people where running on the server while Boshy got the WR, and their POVs do not look lagged, as seen in this video below:



2. This will be a technical explanation. From this wiki page (https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Source_Multiplayer_Networking)

By default, the client receives about 20 snapshot per second. If the objects (entities) in the world were only rendered at the positions received by the server, moving objects and animation would look choppy and jittery. Dropped packets would also cause noticeable glitches. The trick to solve this problem is to go back in time for rendering, so positions and animations can be continuously interpolated between two recently received snapshots. With 20 snapshots per second, a new update arrives about every 50 milliseconds. If the client render time is shifted back by 50 milliseconds, entities can be always interpolated between the last received snapshot and the snapshot before that.

Source defaults to an interpolation period ('lerp') of 100-milliseconds (cl_interp 0.1); this way, even if one snapshot is lost, there are always two valid snapshots to interpolate between. Take a look at the following figure showing the arrival times of incoming world snapshots:



The last snapshot received on the client was at tick 344 or 10.30 seconds. The client time continues to increase based on this snapshot and the client frame rate. If a new video frame is rendered, the rendering time is the current client time 10.32 minus the view interpolation delay of 0.1 seconds. This would be 10.22 in our example and all entities and their animations are interpolated using the correct fraction between snapshot 340 and 342.

Since we have an interpolation delay of 100 milliseconds, the interpolation would even work if snapshot 342 were missing due to packet loss. Then the interpolation could use snapshots 340 and 344. If more than one snapshot in a row is dropped, interpolation can't work perfectly because it runs out of snapshots in the history buffer. In that case the renderer uses extrapolation (cl_extrapolate 1) and tries a simple linear extrapolation of entities based on their known history so far. The extrapolation is done only for 0.25 seconds of packet loss (cl_extrapolate_amount), since the prediction errors would become too big after that.

Now, consider the fact that the tickrate of TF2 is around 66 ticks/second. This means packets are sent and received every 0.0152 seconds. With a cl_interp of 0.1, as long as you do not surpass 0.1 seconds since the last packet was received, any packet loss will not be visible in the demo. This does not mean that packet loss does not occur, it just means that it is hidden due to the gaming having extra time to smooth out the view. Since packets are sent and received every 0.0152 seconds, you could theoretically drop up to 6 packets for every packet that you send. That is a packet loss of ~86%. This means that the method of checking for lagged demos with cl_interp 0.1 is a fundamentally flawed method.

Finally, I would like to point out the obvious conflict of interest in having an admin review whether their own time is achieved illegitimately or not.

 Look at how quickly  jump_areae got added after kidder quit despite camper explicitly saying he doesn't want any other maps added to tempus have diahbarha or however you spell it. Maybe he changed his mind? Plenty of other examples of him just doing shit without the mappers permission tho.

 Look at how quickly  jump_areae got added after kidder quit despite camper explicitly saying he doesn't want any other maps added to tempus have diahbarha or however you spell it. Maybe he changed his mind? Plenty of other examples of him just doing shit without the mappers permission tho.

After playing through some of MrHappyCamper's maps I asked him if he would mind them being on Tempus; he said it would be fine. Next time map adding came up, I recommended it to Boshy and I assume he also asked MrHappyCamper around then.

However, the jump_prostate saga definitely falls under that category, as well as CubeSkip™ and the t0 bonuses. Pretty funny since he's been such an Intended Class Only crusader lately.

I'll start my post off melodramatic as well, I guess...
I don't know jack shit about jumping, my mechanical skill level was at T2 at best, my technical knowledge of strats is also limited.
I'm not active in the jumping discord servers/forums at all but this thread (especially the quoted reply) initiated me to throw my worthless rusty 2 cents too.

I know I shouldn't be here, nor do I care to be here after how I've been treated in the past. But this is not about me, this is about one of my oldest friends being mistreated and I can't stand it any longer. While I don't doubt a second he cares about jumping a lot, just like everyone else in here you can't objectively tell he knows what's best for it, being good at a thing doesn't mean you know what's best for the whole community surrounding that thing, or even for yourself sometimes; not to mention the heavy heavy conflict of interest that was already mentioned in previous posts.

First 5-6 pages were a mess that I didn't have the energy to go through in detail plus I don't know all the backstory from the servers and I don't condone insults being thrown around, it seems you are deliberately ignoring all the serious claims with proof of certain WRs being cheated/glitched just because "muh feelings".
Besides, people in position of power should be held to higher standard, being butthurt over people targeting your WRs for whatever reason shouldn't make you lose your cool just cos you think you're entitled to being #1 on every map/bonus.


As a final note, the drama was fun to read but I'm sadly disappointed seeing all the evidence pile up against someone I really looked up to (from the outside) for the past few years.

EDIT: I've been bamboozled by fake troll screenshot, but I'm still standing behind what I said considering I wasn't referring to anything in the screenshot

From what I've seen in this thread I have no issue adding to the list of hurtful things said about Boshy. He's a liar, manipulative and easily offended. At least when it comes to earning precious tempus points.

That being said it's nice to see that he's also understanding and pleasant in other situations. He's evidently a hard working member of the community as well.

This convo doesn't seem right. In the convo itself it states the date as September 15th 2019 but isn't that way after Boshy gained admin powers anyway? People were talking about the Gaylord b2 dz thing that Boshy clearly adjusted toward the edges before the first clear and that was in February 2018. Vexon you have some explaining to do  ???
