Hello everyone!

A week has passed since the new admin team has been working hard to give Tempus new maps (and new tricks!). Concerns has been raised in our way of handling map adding, I'm here to explain what we do behind the scene more in details to hopefully help people understand and remove those concerns.

This is the current public spreadsheet of maps being worked on for Tempus:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1quokmvhYfqsX1Yj5tZIC-NLSBA8mrD03KBbkPCZhSi0/edit?usp=sharing

This is only a fraction of the main admin spreadsheet we're using. I put that public sheet together to show to the community the progress made on each maps and also what maps aren't ready in their current state.
You can find the different status and their meaning in the 2nd sheet "Status". To better explain them, you first need to understand the main spreadsheet we're using.

Without linking the main spreadsheet, this will give you an idea of what we're working with:

And this is all the tasks that a map has to go through:

Except for tasks H and I wich I'll go over below.

To understand what means what, heres a table comparing the different staus in the main sheet ("Current Task" column) and what they get shown in the public sheet:

I think the different task are self-explanatory in what they achieve. I'll add tho that if a map doesn't pass the "E-Map Testing 2" cause there's still stuff to fix, it goes back to "D-Mapper Fix" and stay in that loop until we judge the map being good for Tempus.

The 2 tasks H-Trial Period and I-Mapper Fix 2 are not currently in our process, they get skip. It's an idea we admins had and want to implement, but the current state of Tempus doesn't allow us to do that very well. There is future project to make it work tho and the idea is that each map added will have a 2 weeks trial period on Tempus. This will work as a final mass testing and quality check. We will have the freedom to wipe times after the 2 weeks period and give the map back to the mapper with fixes to make before we add it to Tempus. Currently, This is for future Tempus as this is not currently possible but something we want to do.

We add every map to that spreadsheet. Anything that exists but is not on Tempus should be on that list. If a map has to stay in a "NOT READY" state or in "Waiting for map update" for years because the mapper isn't making the changes we expect, so be it. I don't want to leave out any map, I believe any map that exists, with some work, could make it's way to Tempus. "With some work" being the keywords. We do not add stuff that doesn't go through the whole process, and they will stay in map testing/waiting for update loop for ever if needed.

All to say, if you see a "waiting for map update" or "reviewing" or "map testing" status on the main sheet, it does not mean the map is ready to be added or that we believe it to be. It is only going through our process.

MAP TESTING
The map testing status is in a different color on the public spreadsheet for a reason. The goal is to get a map testing team, or at least trusted people that could claim those tasks. The map testing is the hardest and most time consumming task in our list, and this is where only 4 of us as admin may not be able to keep up forever. I made the whole spreadsheet in a way that I could give the permission to some trusted individuals/groups to claim the testing tasks and get back to us with the results. I wanted to get things rolling first before this is live, and while it is not currently ready to implement, its coming soon.

MAP SUBMITTING
I use a google form to add maps to the spreadsheet. SOON, this form will be public so people can submit their maps. Right now im taking a few minutes per day to keep going through the forum posts and add any maps I see. Eventually, people will just be able to add maps themselves to the spreadsheet. Need some work in the code to add a pending status to the sheet and it will be public.

I'll gladly explains stuff more in details if it wasn't clear. We have a good system going that we believe will set a good standard for new maps to be added. Concerns/complaints/comments/dogs are always welcome.
