7 Bonuses

Started around July, but went silent until winter break came along. Since TF2 is now compatible with VScript, I did implement Chess game. Took so long to make!

rc1 Changelog:
-Version changed from beta following a "massive" update.
-Added 3D Skybox

-Added 7 bonuses (All entrances are blocked except the first bonus. Beat each one to open to the next level.):

  • -Fixed King being able to move behind checked tiles when on check.
  • -Fixed King being able to capture an opponent piece when opponent King is near at one tile.
  • -Fixed King being able to castle during check.
  • -Removed cubemap reflection tiles.
-Added Spoc13's secret puzzle bonus. There's a secret entrance that leads to this room. Originally from jump_redneck but textures/details have been adjusted. Parody from the game The Witness.
-Adjusted displacements on jump 3 to prevent players from reaching out of the map.
-Added/Removed some details.
-Added author bulletin

rc2 Changelog:
-Added nonades at the entrance to minimize strats in bonus 6.
-Moved tele destination more back in bonus 6.
-Increased slight difficulty in bonus 7.
-Fixed pixelwalking in bonus 7.
-Added more details.
-Updated Chess Vscript:
  • -Added resignation button. Will not activate until each player is present in each room. Physbox wall has been mounted to provide safeguard.
  • -Chess will now display winner status through in-game chat.
  • -Fixed script issues related to cycling turns.
  • -Fixed King being able to O-O-O while only bishop is present.

rc3 Changelog:
-Major detail adjustment
-Rearranged Jump 13 into telesync -> wall -> jurf due to speedrun concern.
-Fixed spotty areas that leads out of the map.
-Stretched second wall upward in Jump 8 for more speedrun consistency.
-Removed starter wall in Jump 10 due to confusion.
-Stretched end pogo platform in bonus 7 for more forgiving completion after random pb.

Coming Soon:
Puzzles Progression and things would get funky here... Credits will be given to Spoc13. The Witness puzzle will be locked at this moment until further notice. If you want to try that puzzle, play rc2 version.

-Moved displacement more back for jump consistency in 13.
-Bonus 6 is now a "red level".
-Moved b6 start tele destination a bit back.
-Bonus 6 and 7 will both open after completing bonus 5.

-Minor lighting adjustment in bonus 6.
-Updated Chess Vscript: Fixed King being able to move around freely when one of the pieces is pinned.

(I'll likely not going to update until when Tempus is at a near release on my map.)

rc9 Changelog:
-Minor detail adjustment
-Readjusted teleport triggers between jumps 3 and 4.
-Added exit teleport on each bonuses from the start.
-Removed tick regen for solly and replaced with trigger_hurt due to player losing health in a map run. You can still get this on any bonuses. Demoman tick left unchanged.
-Updated Chess (Vscript)
  • Button now hides empty tiles for better reading and visibility, and will display legal moves more feasible.
  • Players can now leave the area directly before chess round.
  • Fixed an issue where pinned piece can capture an opponent piece during king check.
  • Fixed an issue where Stalemate couldn't be called when a player has no legal moves in their turn.
  • Changed capture button color due to personal concerns for colorblind people.

final Changelog:
-This will be our last playtest for this map. Thanks to players who gave enough feedback during that period. We had an extensive amount of playtesting.
-Added proper HDR skybox.
-Added bluff to the feedback list. Forgot to include this earlier.
-Added two spectator cameras on each chess side.
-Minor brush adjustments.

final_fix1 Changelog:
-There were reports of "misclicks" when playing Chess. As of now, I've only specified for Sniper and Spy as a recommendation since this minimizes the problem. I will continue to investigate and find an alternative solution(s) if possible.
-Fixed texturing.

v2 Changelog:
-Changed 2d skybox due to theme mismatch. (NOTE: Playing on low graphics settings will result in skybox displaying pixels!)
-Minor detail adjustment
-Updated Chess (Vscript)
  • Optimized script when playing to ensure overall performance.
  • Retextured buttons.
  • Removed lime color where it displays you can capture a piece to ensure performance and fairness.
