I started working on modifying the forum styling today.  Didn't have much time, but I changed the images and main colors and menu bar to match the rest of the site.

I'm mostly using jump map dev texture colors for the site at this point, which may or may not be a bad idea. I'm a little bit colorblind though, so I'm not entirely sure it doesn't look like shit.

Feedback and ideas would be welcome.

i am like shit.

the double soldier/demo isn't that good looking. the white is okay I guess-- although having a darker color scheme is more appealing to me because bright lights wow

Yeah for the soldier/demo I just didn't have anything to put in the header, and a full solid color just looked dull.  I'll look for something better for that, or people can give suggestions. I can understand the brightness thing, and since the main site has a white background, I'll probably play around with darker options for both, so they still match.

Ok, made the main site darker, and made the forum somewhat darker to fit in. I think it's easier on the eyes, especially in the embedded view. Took out the header image and made the header section smaller to minimize the sense of empty space.  Going to do more later.

Why do you even have embedded, it's horrible!

Because I don't know php, and haven't had time to figure it out enough yet to get the site headers and navigation into the forum, or the forum integrated into the site.  Embedding was never intended to be the permanent solution, and I agree that it's horrible. I'll figure it out eventually.

That's what I use.

That's normally what I use too, but some people complained that it was confusing going to "another site" for the forums when was pointing the link directly there. So it's a temporary thing.

I like the dev texture color scheme!

I prefer the embedded forum over going to a different site for the forums. It wasn't confusing but it just wasn't ideal to me.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks, glad you like the colors. Eventually the forum won't need to be embedded, but will just act like part of the regular site.  So the main menus and slideshow will still be there, but the forums will be integrated, so you can copy the thread links etc. from the address bar.

I like the minimalism, the logo on the top right just kills it /:  I can help you make something more fitting, free of charge ofc  ;D

Cool. Add me, we'll talk. I haven't messed with the design in quite a while.
