some of the skips seem to be a bit late in spacing and it makes it feel like the platforms have a higher trigger_hurt than 1 unit above it
jump 7, 20 are a pain in the ass (among others, forget)

precision is bad, creative freedom is good

I love the map's design but I'm surprised noone has mentioned what you did to demos
seriously why are all the surfaces no sticky? Is there a specific reason for that? it makes running it an absolute nightmare. Just seems really unnecesary

I agree with melon. Even the starting platforms are non-sticky, which just seems absurd to me.

While I would like to make this map less shitty, I probably will not be since I fucked up in so many ways since I basically used this to (kind of) learn hammer. Many things are off the grid and I actually cannot properly open the .vmf file anymore so this map will be staying at a5 forever most likely. All the stuff about stickies is because I made every brush on the map a func_brush and that prevents stickies from well sticking to anything. I did it so that I wouldn't have to deal with shadows but looking back it caused way more problems than it "solved". This also causes you to randomly get stuck on walls and jumps 18/20 are probably the biggest examples of this since they can get pretty annoying.

However I am starting work on jump_benroads2 and I plan on taking some of my favorite jumps and improving and expanding on their concepts. Since I have learned a fair bit about mapping I imagine this will be much nicer overall and I will probably make a new thread soonish once I have a few more jumps finished. If you're interested in testing stuff please add me on steam.

Is there any way you could possibly redo the brushes and make the surfaces stickable? This map looks like a really nice map, but it just super annoying as demo.

just select all the func_brushes and click "toWorld" or ctrl + w

I think I tried doing that in the past and the map would not compile anymore. If anybody wants to decompile the map and try that I wouldn't really care if you released it as a6 or final as long as you told me what you changed.

Here is somewhat of a preview of the map so far, currently on 5 jumps and I'm probably going to release a1 once I have

As I have said before, func_brush doesn't seem to like to play nice with a lot of things, players getting stuck and stickies not sticking being two major ones.

So far none of the walls actually eat stickies like they do rockets but I will probably fix that later since I'm currently unsure how to make it block both rockets and stickies/pipes without making the func_nogrenades brushes really obnoxious. Considering just leaving it since I inadvertently boned demos pretty hard on my last map.
