In tempus we have given the soldier a constant 400 HP buff. This means you don't have to worry about switching between gunboats/shotgun, you don't have to constantly be checking your health, and its consistent for everyone.

Currently we have left demo untouched, after we initially asked some jumpers. Over time though, the majority of the people who have played in the server and we have chatted have wondered why demo doesn't have HP regen to 175. To be clear, no overheal, that is not even being considered. A constant 175 HP regen would allow less worrying about health, especially on the large amount of maps that aren't covered in a trigger hurt.

Feedback please!

Tbh, if the map doesn't have health regen all over the map, I don't like seing an overheal or even a normal heal, because it is part of the map.
Like rj_rckteer for example. I consider a run with either the gunboats or rocketjumper on there cheating. The map is intended for shotgun + normal rl (and shovel, or something that doesn't give you extra speed, equalizer is cheating). It gives the map a extra challenge, watching your health.

I actually have something similar to this on my server that like five and a half people know about. I give full demo regen on any soldier maps that don't have trigger_hurt or proper regen. The reason for that is if you need the health regen then you're airpogoing it or doing it properly (#2stickyerryjamp) so I'm not going to punish people trying to be good/gudder. And as far as ammo regen it never really becomes nessecary unless you're doing an 8+ airgoop and you would have died on the third sticky anyway, so it's just there, being.

Maps that have this are stuff like rush, adventure, tholos, any old map really. But of course there is no solly regen on any solly map, nor demo regen on any demo map.

disable fall damage

whats left in speedrunning if we just remove everything we are too bad to handle. why not remove teleporters on maps or remove jump 19 on scorpion because its so annoying to deal with!!1

if you cant speedrun or just run a map, then get better instead of complaining about the map.

I don't quite think disabling fall damage is making things any easier tbh. 

As for demo regen I don't really care. It really only affects a tiny handle of maps like drexen. It's not like soldier regen where there's a significant number of maps HP regen affects. On one hand you have walking in between transitions and on the other you have demo pogoing through transitions. Looking at it like this I would think demo regen would make demo speedruns more skillful considering walking takes no skill...

I can't help but think of the 3rd to last lvl on grimace where one often dies if they det their third sticky too fast. It'd make jumps like those a lot easier and less precise but once again, the issue of demo regen only affects a tiny amount of maps.

look at my tissue run on ur channel, not even that much walking and that map doesnt have constant regen. its how you use it, if you consume all your health in a transition then maybe you're just too bad to handle another element added ontop of normal speedrunning. why would anyone wanna reduce the amount of skill required to speedrun maps? this is retarded fuck yall

if you die from a sync, you're bad except if its a double water one or quints and stuff like that. And I cant think if a map that has those and not full regen all over the map. So I dont see a reason to get a full health buff everywhere. And again, I think a run where you have to watch your health is more impressive (wonderlands 1 hp clutch on rckteer_adv) than a run where you can just keep shooting.

imo if you're soldier and you die from a sync you're just stupid.

What people should do is run gunboats until they get to a jump with a button. Then switch to the shotgun when the button shows up. Then if the jump requires a triple and buttons, use the rocket jumper. You really can't die if you do it like that. And you could even set up your loadouts so you can save some time.

When it comes to speedruns on old maps with shit regen, that's up for the meta (that we haven't made) to decide.

Also there is no real way to stop people from switching loadouts mid run. Just look at Raiin's flawless of pagoda. He started with funboats then switched after the quint.

Is there a decision being made on this? Currently some maps are either impossible (joa) or luck based (nmotion, half, serpentine, propel etc)  due to poor regen. These maps at least should have additional regen added, if not all maps. I'm all for a fixed 175 hp on all maps though.
