This main post will be updated with the latest major changes to Tempus servers.

Latest Update

6 December 2017

* Added a setting to !settings -> Chat for switching chat rank class between auto, soldier and demoman
* !toppc no longer shows disabled maps
* !calladmin now has a confirmation menu
* Changed tf_player_movement_restart_freeze to 0 to prevent initial freeze on map change
* !bcheck menu now displays an indicator if no trigger could be found
* Joining the wrong team for a map no longer shows a death message

- Moved servers to a new ID system to help with future expansion

- Reworked idler system. After 5 minutes of no movement, player will be marked as idle and RTV will ignore them. After 1 hour of no movement, they will be kicked

- Changed solly to have 500 HP

- Changed demo regen to heal when player gets hurt, instead of a timed loop. Also accounted for jumps with buffs.

- Improved !info menu. Now has option to view some more general Tempus stats

- Added in 7 new maps:
  • gr8_wite_final
  • hexahedron
  • iT_final
  • onion_v2
  • sketchy_final
  • stretch_final
  • vertigo

Will be working over next couple days to get these map tiers filled out

Can you change it so after like 30 minutes they get kicked?

Considering we weren't kicking for idling before, we're just trying make the change more gradual, and will keep messing around with the time variances as we see fit. The system should also be kicking idlers when the server is full, so that should help.

- New map author system! Authors of maps are now linked with actual user profiles. You can see all maps (that just they made) or collaborations (multiple authors) with the author involved.

- Added !authors command to list all authors

- Modified !mi to work with new author system

- !P menu now highlights if a user is a map author

- Can no longer RTV instantly after a map change, there is a cooldown period. Now last 10 maps played cannot be nominated.

A few maps will be missing author details as I try look around for steam profiles. Thanks to Eleven for helping me verify a bunch of these, but feel free to message if  an author is wrong. Or if you are a map author and want to add someone else to be credited as well for your map, post or here message me.

this is really dumb imo, most people dont even stay on the server for 10 maps.
Make sure you subscribe to youtube.com/allebwai and follow twitch.tv/alletf for high quality content on a daily basis.

Over the coming days we'll try get them all tiered.

As for the 10 previous map restriction, it was simply something Jay had put in for surf. We're just experimenting a bit with a few things, and it's likely it will be changed in the future.

Good idea but make it shorter, like 5-8 maps, and count extending a map twice as a new map.

I agree with 5-8 maps, and extensions twice. I'm leaning towards to 5-6 for the limit, though. Seems easier on people who were running maps and at the same time allows for at least some variety before going back.

- IRC is now ON by default. In the future we may restrict it to ranked only users, we will just have to see if it becomes an issue
- VE now accounts for idle players (Somehow we missed this before)
- Can now RTV after 2 minutes, instead of the previous 5 min delay
- Added a refresh buttons for Demo Info menu

- New Shunix maps!

- Did fixes for valve's steamid related changes. Server now all back online
- Modified !p menu a bit to try clean it up, best class is now indicated with an asterisk*
- Implemented core structure for a new mode that we will be releasing after we do some more testing and setup.
- Added !rc (!restartcurrent) command. This hopefully adds some convience to existing features, but will be mainly used for the above new mode.
!rc will send you back to the start of whatever zone you are doing:
  • Map Mode - start of map
  • Course Mode - start of current course
  • Bonus Mode - start of current bonus

- Ported Tempus to new platform, Source-Python as our old system, ES is unfortunately dead
- RTV has been completely redone to be more stable, and support things such as checking for VE when a player disconnects
- BCheck interface has changed to make things a bit cleaner
- Next/Previous/Back indicators on menus are now optimised
- !noclip is now a silent command to reduce chat spam and hopefully make less newbies use it
- Added a speed option in !settings -> Center panel. Not sure if people will prefer this over current speedo or not. Please advise.
- Added in new Tricks mode. This mode is designed as a fun side-game, which currently gives no points. Tricks are challenging jumps, sort of JOTW vibe, based off tricks in surf. Zato and myself have added some tricks on a few maps, but they are still pretty rare. We will be working to add more tricks in, and potentially find ways for people to contribute tricks. The related commands are:
  • !tricklist or !tl - View list of tricks for a map
  • !toptrick - View top times for tricks
  • !tspc or !tdpc - Trick percentage completion as solly/demo
  • !toptpc - Top trick percentage completion
  • !rc - Restart the trick you are doing

Tricks are challenging due to the flags or limitations we can apply to them. The flags for a certain trick are visible when you view the trick from !tricklist. Flags may include:
  • Shotlimit - the number of rocket/sticky jumps you can do AFTER leaving the starting zone
  • Class restrictions - Tricks can be solly, demo or both
  • Cancel on jump
  • Cancel on crouch
  • Cancel on RJ/SJ Landing - Trick cancels if you touch the floor after rocket/sticky jumps
  • Cancel on fall damage

Be sure to try out the trick viewer via Show Zones in trick info. It will cycle through the zones you are required to enter to finish a trick, it's nifty!!

- Things have turned a bit spooky!!! This will probably hang around during the duration of TF2 halloween, hopefully people enjoy it!

- Recently the beginnings 2 maps were added. Zones were kept consistent with the rest of maps on tempus, so times made on the servers should not be submitted.
- Fixed lots of small bugs that people have been reporting to me, thanks for these.
- Made preparations for switching all admins over to Tempus, rather than sourcemod. Aim is to have consistent moderation across all the servers.
