Compile error? FIXED! 8)

 When i try to run the map through hammer to test it goes to the compile window and when it gets to a certain point it says (not responding) and then doesn't run the map. Then you have to completely exit hammer and restart it.

Any known solutions or problems?

your computer is likely having trouble compiling the map because of all the brushes it has. if you havent already, try optimizing the map by covering the brush faces that the player can't see with nodraw. you can also use cordon bounds to make the rendering area smaller.

My hammer does that but it's still compiling, you just can't click it or anything.

almost every face not visible to the player was already covered in nodraw. And I waited an hour and it still didnt compile so waiting doesnt work either.

Also after i do it tf2 is unable to launch properly.

Have you tried compiling with fast VIS and disabled RAD once?

I got this issue a few days ago. I fixed it by removing my cfg and custom folder.
Idk if it will work for you.

Yeah, hammer fixed itself. So yeah. I seriously wonder how people at valve worked full time with this piece of shit program.
