So reconnecting several times to avoid punishment is never going to end too well. Gaugey has the full right to ban you from his server, but not from the tempus network. I realise this is not very clear, and a 'network wide' admin system is something I eventually want to move to. This would lead to a reasonably strict list of admins, but hopefully higher quality and more consistent decisions. And that isn't suggesting this ban is unfair, from what I've seen gaugey has been very reasonable in the past.

That being said, I think talking directly to him would have been a better move than a forum post.

As for the comment about someone childish being the only EU host, there are no plans right now to change this. Gaugey has been generous with the hosting, and future EU expansions would aim to be with him. The more server operators we add, the more risks we face, including random drama like this.

I don't understand how it's impossible for you to run while silenced. Sure, you're not able to use chat commands, but you can still do the same things through console (sm_command for !command). I checked earlier and the console commands still work while silenced.

Jokes aside, I do want to play devil's advocate and throw in a thought or two.
Just because you have the right to manage your server as you see fit, doesn't mean it won't feel weird when a dude is censored, silenced and eventually removed because the authority enforcing his displacement didn't feel like dealing with him. People don't behead each other on the streets because someone got a bad look or felt uncomfortable/annoyed by a joke. Why is it that you couldn't resist taking an action instead of just ignoring him?

I guess my point is that I don't exactly justify OP's reaction in making this thread, and following that - his behavior in the discussion, but his attitude is understandable given the fact that it's a direct translation from the normal human conditioning he and most of us here (should)have. He got rekt and it sucked for him, and when he asked why, he was confronted with aggression.

When someone, who is playing on the server I pay for, decides to attack me, joking or not, you'd advocate I just sit there and do nothing? I'm not a saint and I really don't feel like putting up with that shit.

Understandable is not the same as reasonable. He posted on here after being mildly inconvenienced and shouted at.

If people don't want to get told to fuck off, silenced, or kicked, then maybe they shouldn't cause problems for me in the first place. I'm done defending my actions.

You exaggerated the harm done to you by OP's remark, then exaggerated his confusion over his punishment making him look like a pestilence to be dealt with, then enforced a punishment that's inadequate to the crime. You took my words out of context (like taking literally a random example of conflict) to make what I say look bad so that what you say looks good. And I'm not even addressing all your points because I'm actually pressed for time, but to wrap it up - basically you force justification in everything you're questioned of by distorting the otherwise valid points that confront you... Even if that means playing the victim card by implying you were being attacked for your actions when I made it perfectly clear that I had no side, nor would pass judgement.

Don't provoke or annoy admins, they might have a bad day and if you get silenced, kick or anything else, don't complain like a little kid. You are the one who provoked/annoyed the admin, so you could have expected something like that coming.

Either way, don't insult admins.  They are providing you a free service with an expectation that you follow very easy and simple rules.  You break the rules, you risk losing that service.  If that concept doesn't fit into your worldview, good luck with the rest of your life.
