What's better than one map in beta? Two maps in beta!

20 demoman jumps. Intermediate to hard. Plus, buttons that open doors. Who doesn't love those?

I still need to:
  • detail extra rooms
  • add jump numbers
  • paint alpha on the rock floor

I have no bonus jump ideas, so ....

Also, if you happen to run into any texture that looks weird because it didn't pack properly, let me know. Or if I forgot about those red dev textures behind that one door. Or if you can cheat a jump. Or if you like buttons.

I was contemplating forcing the long upward pogo be done in the center of the room instead of on a wall. *shrug*

Screenshots. Umm. Imagine a map that is white, and then bluish gray, and then gray, and then white again. Sold?

I took a quick look at the map and without commentating the jumps themselves, I believe this map would really benefit from some lightmap optimization. For a map like this, 56.5 MB is way too much and should be something like maybe 20 MB or even less. Especially since most of the lighting in the map is so diffuse and monotone. On the contrary, you might want to introduce some more colors in your lights and textures to make them more interesting? The mapping itself looks solid otherwise!

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely change the lightmap scale up to 64. It completely skipped my mind.

-ed- So, I just did it. The map size dropped from 58 to 36.

Nice map! just finished it and I don't really have anything bad to say about it. I liked how you left multiple ways to complete almost every jump. The only thing that kind of stuck out to me was that, if you go from a horizontal air pogo to a verticle, the last jump was almost a carbon copy of one of the previous jumps (the one with two platforms). I would consider revisiting the final jump. But aside from that,good job on the map. :)

I know exactly what you mean. I do that first jump with double sticky catches on the plats into a single air sticky out of a pogo. They are functionally different for me because I am bad at going from a horizontal air pogo to a vertical climb. If you can do that easily, you can do both the jumps the same way.
