How would one go about learning to do bounce jumps and also bounce hops?

Learn the timings, for bouncehops its a bit harder.
For bounces, if you see your damagemarker, you fired too early, if you don't see it, you fired too late.

Bouncehops is just really hard and a lot more when you press jump manually. Binding your scrollwheel to jump really helps.

I don't find using scroll wheel helpful because my mouse has ridges (if that makes any sense), I do bouncehops by... If you dont jump after teleporting, that's too early, and if you jump after teleporting, then you're too late

Same way you learn how to sync or do speedshots and just about everything in jumping; try lots of them. It's pure timing, not really anything that instantly makes you better at it.

But what exactly is the timing for them so I can practice? I've managed a few edgebugs so far and got to jump #6 on jump_edgebug but I keep finding the placement hard.

On lower bounces shooting just before you hit the ground usually works, and for higher ones you need to shoot while you are still falling to hit at the same time as the rocket.

So what keys should I be holding while going into a bounce? I know its crouch and jump..but should I be holding crouch all the way down? Or when i am about to jump...
hmm

That depends on the bounce. The most common one is to jump and then just hold crouch all the time.

But there are 8 different ones:
Walk off - Uncrouch
Walk off - Crouch
Jump - Uncrouch
Jump - Crouch
Crouchjump - Uncrouch
Crouchjump - Crouch
C-Tap - Uncrouch
C-Tap - Crouch

Most of the time if the jump requires you to bounce it will tell you somewhere what kind of bounce it is.

Also crouch walk uncrouched and crouched! Any jump that can be walk off uncrouch bounced is also crouch walk crouched bounceable but crouch walk uncrouched bounces are unique.

There is also stuff like bunnyhop to crouchjump (like on bouncehop b1), walkoff ctap (if that makes any sense) and telehop bhop (bhop after failing a jump and "jumping" after you get teleported) which give different height.

A regular bunnyhop will also give you different numbers.

And I'm not going to add any of these to the spreadsheet because they're bullshit.
