I was hoping to avoid having to start up a server (because I'm absolute shit when it comes to anything technical), but I guess that's just the way it has to be done.

nicely done, very underplayed map. 2nd to last bonus looks brutal... so damn long wtf man.

also i got a question, when you ground pogo and then do two stickies to get horizontal speed and then an air pogo, do you hit S at all for the air pogo or does the timing come naturally? Like at 1:50 in the vid

and do jump_over next

Yeah the 3rd bonus is probably one of the hardest jumps out there. Doing that quad airpogo past the first part was infinitely easier then doing it the correct way.

For the airpogo... idk really! A combo of both usually works best for me so that I don't lose/gain too much speed.

...I don't think I'll be doing jump_over again anytime soon. That map gave me the worst headache I've had in a while (and also took way too long). Maybe I'll do it sometime in the future but really I can't see myself having fun trying to record it. Sorry

It's entirely personal preference. For the most part, I enjoy demo jumping - but when it comes to freestyle (which I honestly think is 100x more fun) I only play soldier. Demo freestyle is really limited in what you can do because of the time it takes for stickies to arm.

Why would you remove it? It -is- on the advanced server. The first jump can be done with a simple prefired doublesticky and a little bit of strafe. If you see nobody getting past it, that's their fault - and it isn't just this map. With that logic, maps like jump_air (which is one of my personal favorites) should also be removed because it has no lighting and people can't get past the first jump.

jump_noob2_ab - TF2 sticky jumping

In all reality it's one of the easier demo maps when compared to revenge, contact, and other more difficult maps. A little bit of bad map design shouldn't get it booted off the rotation. Don't remove it please.

I got around to completing the rest of jump_what yesterday, so I'm going to try and record the rest of the list now.

I thought this was good enough to share here. There's already a video of it, but I had a ton of fun playing it so... yeah! I couldn't find out who the mapper was though ~ if anyone could tell me that I'd be really thankful. thanks grim!


Also, jump_noob2_ab's demos are recorded. I should have a video up in a day or two. After that I'm going to try for pure.

Volcanic only had a video for the beta version (which didn't include bonuses), and the only full run on frayb I could find was of a soldier playing it.

Love this so much. It could really use more ramps/slants and the skybox didn't fit at all - but wow I had a load of fun airpogoing around.

I recorded a few freestyle jumps on it, too.
