I can wall jump fine usually.  Maps like tholos and heavy I can do fine mostly.   But I'm failing pretty badly, embarrassingly, on torii's new map.  I spend a good 25 minutes just beating the first level each time, because the low ceiling kills my momentum.  How do you wall jump in these type of areas?  How do I prevent myself from gaining too much height?

The world is a cube
start on the wall instead of the floor
if you're not doing that already, it helps a lot

You need to be firing further ahead than normal to help keep a constant height. Sometimes taking those jumps slower and just focusing on not dropping helps a lot.
