Jump IT / JuJump iT / Re: Changes to iT! Servers
« on: Yesterday at 02:26:18 AM »
It's so sad to see such a major part of the TF2 jump and surf community go. It's always been fun to join jump iT and watch how bad NA jumpers are. :P :P :P

I can't imagine how much time and money you've spent managing and running the servers! You and the servers have definitely been a big part of the TF2 community in general. I guess we can only hope there will be new jump and surf servers that are half as good as the iT servers.

Thank you for everything and best of luck to you in the future!

Whatever / Re: targa movie issues

Heya, the tga file format is a lossless and uncompressed format, so when you're taking all these images, combining them into a series, and exporting them as an .avi file (I suppose you are) - you're gonna end up with a huge video file that has an enormous bit rate, even if you're using the lagarith codec (which I think is the best to use if you wanna save some space, but still have excellent quality on your exported video files). You're not going to be able to play that file unless you have an insanely fast disk and overall excellent computer.

Basically once you have your video file from virtualdub, render it in vegas or whatever (mp4 is a great format) with a bit rate of like 12K, 14K or higher, depending how high quality you want it in. But YouTube still converts your raw render to a much smaller bit rate (and 30 fps) once you upload it, so ye...

@anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong in some aspects :P

ChiLL0uT Z0nE / Re: The Future of ChiLL0uT-Z0nE | Jump Server
« on: September 11, 2013, 08:34:34 PM »
I remember jumping on pagoda for the first time in 2009 or 2010, LeXeR was on and he showed me how to do some of the jumps, really nice guy. I also remember joining chillout for the first time, such a cool and different server compared to so many other (btw what happened to the maryjane sound?  ??? ), anyway, I watched w33d doing the bonus jumps on littleman and just got so discouraged watching this guy's amazing jump skills. I also watched my friend Exotic jumping with LighT and some other dude one day on littleman, he could barely keep up with them cause they were so insanely good. :D I then stopped jumping for a while, but some time passed and I began to join random jump servers and tried to become better I guess. I didn't want to join chillout cause I felt like I was shit compared to you guys, which was dumb and I really regret it now, since a lot of the older jumpers have stopped jumping and I didn't get to meet them. Still, I've met a lot of cool peeps on chillout and I've had a lot of fun on the server, and it's such a big part of this community in general, so to see it go now would be so sad.

I hope my donation can help to keep it alive for a while at least.

I would've donated more, but I had some bills to pay.  >:(
